"Where can I find resources? What can my parents do? It's like my whole family needs help because of my ADHD". My friend, a new CYC, says he has heard these types of statements from the children and youth he sees in his practice. As summer approaches, he has also fielded questions about campus for ADHD kids. Fortunately, there are a variety of community resources and camps available to support children/youth and their families.

Below you will find a list of community resources. There are many more so remember to keep looking at this blog as the list will continue to grow.

Turning Corners is a psychological services organisation. Turning Corners provides counselling, assessments, and different kinds of therapy options.

Sunshine Day Camp is a summertime day camp that focuses on social skill development. This camp is designed for children aged 7 to 12 who have learning disabilities and ADHD. Sunshine Day Camp provides a safe, fun, and caring recreational program that understands how to support children with emotional, social, and behavioural struggles.

Camp Kirk is a summertime camp that is designed for kids with Autism, ADHD, Learning Disabilities and other exceptionalities. Camp Kirk has a loving and accepting environment for the kids. Camp Kirk has a high staff-to-camper ratio and the kids are put into small groups with 1 staff for every 2 campers.

Cross Roads is a Children's Mental Health Centre that specialises in Mental Health Services, Child & Family clinics, and Behavioural Therapy Schools. Cross Roads provides in-home treatment, parent groups, child and family therapy, daytime treatment, intensive mental health services, and arson prevention.

CHEO Mental Health provides assessment and treatment for children/youth who are having challenges functioning at home or in school. A multidisciplinary team provides therapy individually, with families or in groups for children/youth with serious mental health concerns.

Heritage Academy is a private school designed for students with Dyslexia and other language-based exceptionalities. Heritage Academy has a specialised environment with smaller class sizes that prove to be effective for students with ADHD and similar attention-based exceptionalities.
